As I mentioned earlier, I ordered an adorable diaper cover from Zookies, a store I'd never heard of before. Let me say I am completely impressed not only with the cover, but also with the customer service! Right off the bat, Michelle was so nice! For the first time I felt like I was dealing with a real person instead of a computer. She has responded quickly every time I've contacted her even though she's busy with her own children and with her business. Her kindness alone has made me a confirmed Zookies shopper!
She also sent me a free reusable snack bag along with my diaper cover. I'd never thought of using reusable snack bags before, but I love it! I use it pretty much every time we're in the car--I just fill it with pretzels or goldfish and give it to Gehrig. He can get it opened and closed all by himself and doesn't spill stuff all over the car. :)
Now for the diaper cover. Logan was at the top end of the medium weight range so I went ahead and bought a large. It's still big on him, but I was thinking ahead to his being able to wear it in the spring and summer when I don't have to put pants on over it! :) I really, really hate to hide this cute diaper. Unfortunately it is still big for him so he doesn't wear it much right now. :( However, when he has worn it, even though it's too big, it still has not leaked at all. The only issue I've had is that the top of the aplix seems to rub his tummy, but I'm pretty sure that's just because it is still too big. Michelle has been working hard to try to figure out a solution to this--she offered to make me another diaper at no charge! But I'm pretty sure once he grows into this one it won't be a problem any more.
I'm not sure what material it is, but I don't think it's PUL. Every other cover I had that wasn't PUL has wicked, but no wicking with this one! I'll admit I was slightly disappointed when I first got it and the outer was fabric--I expected not to be able to use it very much because it would wick. But I'm glad to say I was wrong!
Michelle was also awesome enough to let me test a one-size cover that she's working on. How cute is it??
It's also working great! I get a great fit with it over trifolded prefolds, snappied prefolds, flats, and fitteds. No leaks whatsoever! I am in love with this cover. :)

Crazy Busy
I have about five blog post ideas running around in my head, but I just haven't had time to write any of them. As you may know, I've started my own mini-business, Baby Beanies, and I've been staying super busy with custom orders. As a matter of fact, this is the first chance I've had to take a break from knitting in a few weeks! I do have two more orders, but one is from my mom and the other is from my friend and neither of them need the stuff until April. I'm hoping I get a few days to make some in-stock items for the store, but I'll welcome more orders too. :)
Besides the whole Baby Beanies thing, I've also gotten a part-time job. It's super part-time--only a few hours every other week or so--but it's something. Also I'm kind of an alternate so I might be called in more often. I feel great about making some more extra money, and I'm so excited to be saving up money to go back to Singapore for a visit!
And then I also have my duties at home to keep me busy. At first I was kind of overwhelmed, but then I realized work begets work. The busier I am, the more energy I seem to have and the more work I get done. I actually FINALLY cleaned out the drum room so the only thing in there now is Mike's drumset.
I like to read through Proverbs 31 every so often to remind myself what kind of woman I'm aspiring to be, and as I was reading it last week, I had a revelation. Maybe I'm the only one who thought this way, but it always seemed to me like the Proverbs 31 woman did all the stuff she did effortlessly, like life was so easy for her and she happily took care of her family and did all the extra things she did. But I realized that it doesn't matter who you are, being a wife and mother is hard work. I don't think the Proverbs 31 woman was happy all the time, and I really don't think she did all of her jobs effortlessly. I think she really had to work at being the "Proverbs 31 woman."
I guess it's kind of silly, but realizing that made me feel better. I know I'll probably never completely be a "Proverbs 31 woman," but the very fact that I'm aspiring and working towards it brings me that much closer.
And here I go back to my knitting...

Gehrig Snippets v. 8
While we were in Pensacola, I bought some of A Beka's Bible verse alphabet flash cards. I started doing letter "A" and the verse "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) with Gehrig at the beginning of this month. I tried to explain to him what the verse meant, but I wasn't sure if he got it or not.
Yesterday morning as we were getting ready for church, Gehrig announced, "I like God!" and I said, "I like Him too." He said, "God never does anything bad." I was so surprised he remembered what I'd told him a month ago! I guess I need to be spending more time telling him about God instead of letting him memorize Toy Story.
